The BMW Art Cars belong to the most precious vehicles on earth. Many renowned artists throughout the world have created beauties, including David Hockney, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, and Andy Warhol. To date, a total of 19, based on both racing and regular production vehicles, have been created.

Our first work for BMW shows historian Wolfgang Blaube a renowned car journalist and Florian Borkenhagen, a Documenta artist and design professor in the BMW Art Car exhibition at Prototype Museum in Hamburg. We document their conversation about the context of thick paint on cars and speed, a winning Warhol and the question why Alexander Calder was allowed to design the first BMW Art Car.
